FAQ

These are some common questions that most clients typically ask regarding most weave and extension services. If by any chance that there is a question that you may have that is not listed please feel free to contact me.

Q. What is the recommended length of time to wear a weave/extensions?
A. Although every client may vary, I recommend that you wear your weave/extensions no longer than 2 to 3 months with proper care and maintenance. The weave itself may last longer, but the main focus is the health of your hair .

Q. How often should I shampoo my weave?
A. Once per week or once every two weeks is fine. However your shampoo needs may vary.

Q. What is the best way to shampoo my weave?
A. The easiest and best way to shampoo your weave is while in the shower. Make sure you keep the hair going straight back to minimize or prevent tangling.I also recommend using Joico Moisture Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner.

Q. Are there any reasons that can restrict me from getting a weave/extensions?
A. Yes. Weaves or extensions will not be installed on freshly relaxed under no circumstance, because the hair is at a weakened state and may cause breakage or severe shedding. Client must wait at least a week following your relaxer before install is done. I will not install weave or extensions on hair that has excessive shedding because there may be an underlying health issue that needs to be treated before adding weave/extensions. I also will not install weaves/extensions on hair shorter than 3 inches. I may be unable to grip very short hair and there is a possibility the weave may not last the 2-3 month period.

Q. How long does it take to get my weave installed?
A. It typically takes 4 to 6 hours, however this time frame varies from client to client , and also depends on any additionals service recieved.

Q. How many packs of hair do I need?
A. If you are purchasing hair from the beauty supply store, you can purchase 2-3 packs of hair depending the desired length, fullness, and style.

If you are buying your hair from a vendor you should purchase 2-3 bundles for a natural look, and 4-5 bundles for very long voluminous looks. It primarily depends on the density or length that you want your install. If you are unsure please ask before purchasing.

Q. What type of hair do you recommend for my weave?
A. I highly suggest using high quality hair for your install such as 100% Virgin Hair. If you are looking for a vendor please let us know because we now supply Virgin Hair to our clients, and if the hair is purchased with the sew in we can offer as a Package Deal. For more information on the hair that we supply please visit http://www.signatureblendshair.com

Some brands of Remi Human hair ,which is found in the beauty supply store that is also suitable although you may experience more shedding and matting compared to the higher quality virgin hair. Some of the Remi brands that I suggest are Bobbi Boss Indi Remi or First Remi.
